Missouri Democrats reviewed the qualifications of their favorite son, Sen. James A. Reed, in convention at St. Louis and voted to use "all honorable means to secure his nomination" for the presidency at Chicago in June.

The Gayety Theater closed its doors. Leaseholders are seeking back rent and agents of the Theatrical State Employees' Union are seeking back salaries.

Joe Truskowski, former 3-sports star at the University of Michigan, was signed as assistant football coach at Iowa State College.

The State Board of Equalization completed its downward revision of assessed valuations of all Missouri real estate. The average reduction of city properties was 11 per cent, while the farm reduction was 17 per cent.

Eugene C. Reppert, former motor car dealer, too the oath of office as director of police.

Application for a restraining order to prevent state and county officials from closing two Lawrence, Kan., theaters on Sundays was filed in Kansas City, Kansas, federal court today by the Glen W. Dickinson Theaters, Inc.
