Potwin, an incorporated city of the third class in Butler county, is located in Plumb township on White Water creek and the Missouri Pacific R. R. 13 miles northwest of Eldorado, the county seat. It has a bank, a flour mill, schools and churches, telegraph and express offices, and a money order postoffice with one rural route. The population in 1910 was 249.
