Charles W. Reynolds, M. D., a member of the medical profession of Holton, Kans., is a native of West Virginia. He was born at Ella, that state, February 1, 1870, and is a son of Thomas and Lydia (Wilson) Reynolds, both natives of Virginia. When Dr. Reynolds was three years old, his parents removed from West Virginia to Ohio, locating in Monroe county, and here the boy received his early educational discipline in the public schools, and graduated from the Clarenton High School. After spending a few years on his father's farm he attended Starling Medical College, Columbus, Ohio, two years. He then went to Keokuk, Iowa, where he entered the Keokuk Medical College and was graduated in the class of 1897, with a degree of Doctor of Medicine. After graduating he located at Malcom, Iowa, where he practiced his profession until the spring of 1904, when he came to Kansas and located at Holton, where he has since been engaged in the practice. He has taken several post graduate courses in the leading medical institutions of Chicago and Philadelphia. He is the local surgeon for the Union Pacific; Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific, and the Missouri Pacific railway companies. He is a member of the County, State and American Medical Associations, and has served one term as president of the County Association. Dr. Reynolds was united in marriage in November, 1893, to Miss Leota Wheeler, a native of Ohio. She is a daughter of Henry and Nancy (Lemley) Wheeler, also natives of Ohio, who spent their lives in that State. To Dr. and Mrs. Reynolds have been born three children, Floyd, Olive and Grace, all attending public school at Holton. The family attend the Methodist Episcopal church.
