Selden, an incorporated city of the third class in Sheridan county, is located in Sheridan township on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific R. R., 16 miles, northwest of Hoxie, the county seat. It has a bank, a weekly newspaper (the Independent), about 30 stores, a grain elevator, telegraph and express offices, and an international money order postoffice with five rural routes. The population in 1910 was 297.
