Isaac McCulley

ISAAC McCULLEY, during his experience in Kansas, has been a rancher and a successful banker, and is now cashier of the Wellsford State Bank at Wellsford.

Mr. McCulley was born at Pattonsburg, Missouri, December 27, 1880. He is of Scotch ancestry, his forefathers having come from Scotland and settled in Kentucky. His father, E. F. McCulley, was born at Patonsburg, Missouri, in 1856, and spent his active life there as a farmer. In 1903 he moved to Lake City, Kansas, where he conducted a ranch for some years, but is now living retired. He is a democrat and a member of the Masonic fraternity. Mr. McCulley married Effie Shaw, who was born at DeKalb, Illinois, in 1855.

Isaac McCulley is the only child of his parents. He attended the public schools of Pattonsburg, and in 1899 graduated from the Chillicothe Normal School in Chillicothe, Missouri. During the next four years he was a practical farmer, and in 1903 located at Lake City in Barber County, Kansas, and continued ranching for six years. For nine years he was connected with the Lake State Bank, beginning as assistant cashier, and finally was promoted to cashier. In 1918 he entered upon his present duties as cashier of the Wellsford State Bank. This bank was established in 1911, and has a capital of $10,000 and surplus and profits of $10,000. The officers are: C. E. Anderson, president; E. D. Kinney, vice president, and I. McCulley, cashier.

Mr. McCulley owns a farm of eighty acres in Barber County and has a modern home at Wellsford. He served as treasurer of Lake City Township and is now treasurer of Wellsford Township. In politics he is a democrat, is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, is past master of the Lake City Lodge of Masons; a member of Medicine Lodge Chapter, Royal Arch Masons; Lake City Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of which he is a past grand; Lake City Camp, Modern Woodmen of America; belongs to he[sic] Rebekahs at Lake City and also to the Chapter of the Eastern Star there and is a member of the Brotherhood of American Yeomen at Santa Rosa, Missouri.

In 1903, at Pattonsburg, Missouri, Mr. McCulley married Miss Bettie Ragsdale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ragsdale, farmers, who now reside at Moberly, Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. McCulley have one son, William Robert, born March 12, 1913.
