Obituary of JESSIE McGINNIS McADAM LACEY
Funeral services were held from the Moran Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Jessie Lacey, wife of W.E. Lacey of Moran who passed away at the Nevitt Hospital Sunday night.

Mrs. Lacey had been in failing health for several years, with occasional periods of illness, the last being a prolonged on during which time she was
removed to the hospital from her home.

Mrs. Lacey was 64 years of age and was born at Bush City, where she grew to womanhood. She married in 1909 to Moreland McAdam of Mildred. They were the parents of four children, three of whom and Mr. McAdam precede her in death.

In 1930 she was married to W.E. Lacey. They made their home west of Mildred until 1944 when they moved to Moran.

Surviving her, in addition to Mr. Lacey, are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ward, Mound City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Letha W. Wood, of Santa Cruz, California, a sister, Lulu Freeman, of the home at Moran; a brother, Floyd McGinnis, Compton, California and two grandchildren.

Rev. Robert Craig conducted the funeral service. Music was by Mrs. Dwight Barnes at the organ with two vocal numbers by a quartet, Mrs. Cecil Burkhead, Mrs. Arch Thomas, Dwight Barnes and Dale Elfin who sang, "I Came to the Garden Alone" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casketbearers were: Linley Hills, P.B. Fundis, Dorrel Harris, Dale Elfin, Elmer Hite and Dwight Barnes. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery east of Mildred.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral service were: Mrs. Belle Norton, Mrs. Vena LaMunyon, Mrs. Mabel Gibbs, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Mr. and Mrs. Tom McAdam, Joplin, Missouri; Mrs. Joe McGinnis and Gary, Garnett, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Badders, Bush City, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Wallace, Mrs. Howard Ward, Mrs. Warren Ward and girls, Mrs. Thelma Johnson, Mrs. Althea Schasteen, all of Mound City, Kansas; Mrs. Bess Ross, Bronson, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. George Luscombe, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ayers, Topeka, Kansas.
