COUNTY LINES.
The Legislature of 1868 changed the county lines by transferring townships five, ranges fifteen and sixteen from Brown to Jackson county. This is the only change that has ever been made in the boundaries, and leaves the county just twenty-four miles square.
Transcribed from History and Statistics of Brown County, Kansas, comp. by E. N. Morrill, Hiawatha, Kan., Kansas herald book, news, and job office, July 4, 1876.
