Obituary of WILLIAM FRANCIS "MR. BILL" BOLLINGER |
William "Mr. Bill" Bollinger, 64, Died: Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Clay County Medical Center. Born: Aug. 26, 1936, at Emporia, Parents: William Clyde and Evelyn (Griffitt) Bollinger. Education: Graduate of Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan. Attended Emporia State University and Kansas State University where he earned a master's degree in education. Mr. Bollinger taught in Junction City and Blue Valley (Randolph) junior high schools before he retired in 1989 and moved to Texas, while in Texas he was a substitute teacher. He returned to Clay Center and worked as a substitute teacher in Riley and USD-379 in Clay County. He was a Marine Corp veteran, and a member of Manhattan Eagles Lodge. Married Donna Lee Hayworth July 10, 1984, and she survives of the home in Clay Center. Additional survivors: Three daughters, Carol Lynn Thierolf and husband, Craig, of Manhattan, Eadye Bollinger of Junction City, and Gigi Howard and husband, Lonnie, of High Point, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Kelly Holte and husband, Mike, of Clay Center; four stepsons, Rick Hayworth and wife, Tina, of Mayfield, Ky., Randy Hayworth and wife, Kim, of Joshua, Texas, Rodney Hayworth and wife, Terri, of Clay Center, and Roger Hayworth and wife, Kae, of Lincoln, Kan.; a sister, Patty Mooney of Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Funeral service: Mr. Bollinger was a donor and services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the William Bollinger Scholarship Fund in care of Gold Bank or Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home. |
