Obituary of EDNA MAY SANDS |
Edna May Sands, 74, wife of Ed Sands, was pronounced dead on arrival at Coffeyville Memorial
Hospital late Saturday evening, after suffering an apparent heart attack at her home in Edna. Born Aug. 4, 1900, she was the daughter of George and Bessie (Moore) Kinnamon near Cherryvale. She moved with her parents to the Snow Hill school district, southwest of Valena in 1909. She attended rural and Coffeyville schools. On Oct. 20, 1917, she married at Independence to J. E. (Ed) Sands. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm east of Coffeyville. In 1937, they moved to Craig County, Oklahoma, living there until 1940. Then they moved to a farm southeast of Edna. The couple moved to Edna in 1968. Mrs. Sands was a member of the Edna Methodist Church; the Valeda Grange; and a member of Camp No. 3317, the Valeda Camp Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include the widower of the home; one daughter, Ms. Howard S. (Geneva) Rhodes of Edna; a son, Guy J. of Princeton, Indiana; one brother, Charles Kinnamon of Brownsville, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending with the Ford Funeral Home. ----------------------------------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Edna M. Sands, 74, of Edna, who died Saturday, will be
at 2 p.m. Tuesday in For Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview
