Obituary of JAMES PAXTON |
The funeral of the late James Paxton was held at his home in Fairview township
Sunday, conducted by Rev. Fulcher of this city. Friends from far and near were
present to pay their tribute of respect. Mr. Paxton was a member of the Modern
Woodmen and Masonic fraternity. Impressive services were conducted by the latter
order at the Oswego cemetery. The deceased served four years in the civil war. In the fall of 1870 he located in Labette county and purchased 240 acres in Fairview township, on which he resided until his death. He prospered and identified himself with every movement which tended toward the uplifting of his fellowman. His untimely end is regretted by many Friends. |
