Funeral Card of ALEXANDER FUNK

The son of George Henry and Mary (Rummel) Funk, was born December 12, 1894 at Russell, Kansas, and departed this life on September 4, 1968, at his home, 236 East 16th Street, in Russell. His age was 73 years, 8 months and 23 days.

With the exception of six years spent in Cimarron, Kansas, Mr. Funk was a resident of the Russell community. In early infancy he was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He received his education in the Russell schools and most of his adult lifetime was spent in farming. He was united in marriage to the former May Bear on August 10, 1950, at Russell and until 1965 their home was on a farm about 5 miles north of Russell. He retired in 1965 and came to Russell where he resided until his death. He was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church and held the affection, respect and esteem of his family, neighbors and all those with whom he came in contact in business, in farming activities and socially.

To treasure and cherish his memory are his wife of the home; one brother Henry Funk, Russell; two half brothers, Charley Funk, of Dodge City and Jacob Funk, of Russell; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey Stewart, Russell; Mrs. Elizabeth Bisterfelt, Dorrance and a half sister, Mrs. Mary Bender of Natoma, Kansas.

Conducted Friday, September 6, 1968 from The Deines Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Pastor R. G. Sedo of St. John Lutheran Church officiating.
Organist, Mrs. Howard Vladar.
Soloist: Mr. Ed Sewell.
Hymns: "In The Garden", "How Great Thou Art".
Casket Bearers: Emmett Speere, Fred Claussen, John Fuller, Wm. Heard, Howard Fowler, Herman Langholz.
Laid to Rest: The Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas
Services Entrusted to: Deines Brothers Funeral Home.
