Funeral Card for ALEXANDER ALBERT STRECKER
Alex A. Stecker
Son of J. Peter and Christina (Dumler) Strecker was born February 11, 1885 in Russell County Kansas and departed this life January 27, 1974 at the Russell City Hospital at the age of 78 years 11 months and 16 days. He grew to manhood and spend his early adult life in Russell and Susank. He later moved to Colorado Springs where he lived for 22 years and in 1969 moved to Gorham where he spent his remaining years. He served his country in World War I and was a member of the Community Church of Gorham.

On July the 27, 1924, he was united in marriage to Mollie (Michaelis) in Susank. To this union two daughters were born. He is survived by his wife Mollie of the home, Mrs. LeRoy J. (Helen) Hirsch of Joplin, Missouri and Mrs. John A. (Elma) Brown of Gorham. One brother, Henry, of Hoisington and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Dumler, of Longmont, Colorado. Two half sisters, Miss Minnie Strecker and Mrs. Bertha Havel both of Russell. Three half brothers, Fred and Ed R. Strecker both of Russell and Fred Heinze of Greensburg, Kansas. Six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Two sisters, Mrs. Honis (Mollie) Michaelis and Mrs. C.C. (Amelia) Weddin preceded him in death.

Services: Held from St. John Lutheran Church, Wednesday, January 30, 1974, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Delbert McLaughlin, officiating.
Organist: Mrs. Howard Vladar
Quartet: Mrs. Kenneth Dumler, Mrs. Lawrence Wilhelm, Mr. Emil Niedenthal, Mr. J. E. Morgenstern
Hymns: "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" "Pass Me Not O' Gentle Savior" (German)
Casket Bearers: Herbert Michaelis, Reuben Steinert, Gilbert Michaelis, Robert Eifel,
Floyd Weimaster, Ernest Strecker.
Laid to Rest: Russell City Cemetery
Services Entrusted to: Deines Funeral Home, Russell, Kansas.
