Obituary of BENJAMIN KARST

Benjamin Karst, 94 died May 4 at the Hoisington Hospital after a short illness. Born Dec. 11, 1888, in Barton County, he has been a lifetime Galatia area resident. He married Magdelena Dietz Jan. 19, 1915, at Milberger. He was a retired farmer.

Karst was a member of United Emmanual Lutheran Church in Milberger and a former member of Galatia School Board and Board of Directors of Central Kansas Electric of Great Bend.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Arthur, Galatia, and Leon, Rush Center; two daughters, Viola Dumler, Russell, and Florence Veach, Ellinwood; one foster Daughter, Esther Nuss, Russell; three sisters, Lena Radke, and Martha Dietz, both of Russell, and Anna Deines, Hoisington; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at the church with Rev. Robert Drier officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Galatia.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
