Funeral Card of AMELIA "MOLLIE" BOXBERGER
Amelia (Mollie) Boxberger, daughter of George and Maria K. Beck (nee Ehrlich), was born at the family farm home east of Russell, Kansas, on February 21, 1893. She departed this life at the Logan County Hospital January 25, 1970, at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 4 days.
A longtime resident of the Russell community, she was baptized in early infancy and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On July 12, 1914, she was united in marriage to Emanuel Boxberger in St. John Lutheran Church, Russell. After their marriage they established their home on a farm 10 miles south of Russell. Here, she assumed her duties as farm wife and homemaker for 48 years. There were 7 children born to this marriage and as a family they all played their roles in the community life. In September of 1962, her husband preceded her in death after which, she made her home at Great Bend, Kansas until November, 1969, when she moved to Oakley. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church until joining the Great Bend Lutheran Church a few years ago.
In failing health for some time, she became seriously ill last month and was admitted to the hospital where she passed away Sunday evening at 10:30 p.m. To remember and treasure her memory are 6 children, Mrs. Ferdinand (Tabea) Dumler, Russell; Mrs. Russell (Irene) Ehrlich, Great Bend; Leo E. Boxberger, Oakley, Kansas; Clarence Boxberger, Russell; Mrs. Otto (Rosie) Niedens, Hoisington, Kansas; and Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Niedens, Denver, Colo.; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one brother, Fred Brack, of Russell, and many other near relatives and friends. Preceding her in death also were a son, Elmer Boxberger, in 1968; one sister Mary Dumler; one grandson, Stanley Niedens, and a great Grandson, Douglas Goodheart.
Memorial Service: Conducted from St. John Lutheran Church in Russell, Kansas, Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1970 at 2 p.m., Vicar Evans of Great Bend officiating.
Organist: Mrs. Howard Vladar
Quartette: Ferd Niedenthal, Rudy Parker, Howard Vladar, and Ed Sewell.
Hymns: "How Great Thou Art" "Praise to the Lord the Almighty".
Casket Bearers: Ronald Boxberger, Adolph Dumler, Ardean Boxberger, Calvin Dumler, Michael Boxberger, Armin Strecker.
Laid to Rest: in the Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas.
Arrangements Entrusted to: Deines Brothers Funeral Home.
