Obituary of MRS. DAVID S. (CARRIE) DUMLER

Mrs. David S. (Carrie) Dumler, 78, died at about 3 p.m. Monday (18 March 1968) at the Homestead Villa Nursing Home, Hoisington, where she had been a resident for several months. Her death came about 32 hours after the death of her husband, David S. Dumler, 81, Sunday, in the Russell Hospital.

Dual Funeral services have been arranged for Wednesday afternoon in Russell to replace the single service first planned for her husband. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. John Lutheran Church following 1:30 p.m. family services in Memorial Chapel of Pohlman's Russell Mortuary. Rev. R. G. Sedo will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Dumler, the former Carrie Strecker, was born Oct. 18, 1889, in Yankton, South Dakota, and moved to Russell County with her parents while an infant. She and her husband were married Feb. 25, 1913. The Dumlers farmed in the Pioneer community until moving to Russell in 1940 to make their home.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Carl Dietz, Otis; two sons, Paul and Carl, both of Russell; two brothers, Alex and Ed Strecker, both of Russell; four sisters, Mrs. George Reed, Ponca City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Emanuel Tittel and Mrs. David Bay, Russell, and Mrs. George J. Dumler, Salina; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A son, Ernest, died in infancy. A sister, Mrs. J. R. Wolf, preceded her in death.

The memorial fund established Monday for the St. John Lutheran carillon now includes names of both Mrs. and Mrs. Dumler."
