Obituary of DAVID R. DUMLER
Rites Tomorrow for David R. Dumler, Who Died Saturday (7 February 1959)

After a lingering illness of over three years, death came Saturday morning to David R. Dumler, 83, who lived in Russell since 1938, after retiring from farming which had been his occupation all his life.

Mr. Dumler was born March 3, 1875, at Bloomenfeldt (sic), Russia, the son of Eva (Rauh) (sic) and Michael Dumler. He came to America with his family on July 22, 1878, and settled on a farm near Milberger where he lived until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Edith, of the home, Mrs. Elma Brack, Mrs. Ruth Reitz (sic - should be Dietz), Albert M. Dumler, Ferdinand D. Dumler and William E. Dumler, all of Russell and Mrs. Eulalia Titus of Casper, Wyo. and three step children, Ernest Shenk, of Pratt, Mrs. Barbara Nelson of Wichita and Mrs. Grace Joseph, of San Francisco, Calif., also 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mr. Dumler was the last surviving member of his family that came to this country as early day pioneers from the State of Samaria, Russia.  He had been a hospital patient several times and was bedfast the past 18 months at his home at 307 East Seventh Street.
Deines Brothers will have charge of the funeral services which will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. from the Funeral Home and at 2:30 p.m. from the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger with the Rev. A. Traugott in charge. Burial will be in the Milberger Cemetery.
