29 January 1954
Funeral Card of EVA ELIZABETH LOHMAN
Eva Elizabeth, the daughter of George and Madgelena Bender, nee Schwein, was born August 25, 1858 at Kratzka, Province of Saratov, Russia and departed this life at the Russell City Hospital on January 29, 1954. Aged 95 years, 5 months and 4 days.

In early infancy she was baptized in the Lutheran faith and later confirmed. In 1876 she came with her parents and a colony of immigrants to America. This colony settled in Russell County in what is now known as the Bender Hill Community. After attaining womanhood she was united in marriage to John Lohman. To this union twelve children were born. Four of these preceded her in death. After her marriage they engaged in farming on a farm north of Milberger. Her husband died June 29, 1929 and she continued her residence on the home place with her son Ludolph until she suffered a fall in her home on January 7, three weeks ago. She was brought to the Russell Hospital where she was a patient until her death which occurred early Friday morning at 4:40 a.m.

A kind and gracious mother, a devout member of her church, a friendly neighbor, she leaves to cherish her memory five sons and three daughters: John, of Greeley, Colo., Emanuel, Salina, Kansas, George, Hoisington, Kans., Mrs. Lydia Maier, Russell, Ludwig, Garden City, Kans, Ludolph, Milberger, Kans. Mrs. Amelia Steinert, Galatia, Kans., and Mrs. Leah Morgenstern, Salem Ore. Also 39 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many other close relatives and friends.
