Obituary of HERMAN ALEXANDER KRUG

Herman Alexander Krug, 71, died, Dec. 24 (1983) at Russell City Hospital. He was born May 10, 1912, in Russell County to Frederick and Pauline (Nuss) Krug.

Krug spent his life in the Russell area, attending the Bender Hill schools and graduating from Russell High School in 1932. On Nov. 17, 1932, he married Esther Bitter at Trinity Bender Hill Lutheran Church. They had six children: Joetta, Donald, Marilyn, Norma, Lois and Monte.
As a farmer-stockman he raised cattle and wheat and was involved in the oil industry. He owned Russell Tractor and Implement Company and the Natoma Tractor and Implement Company at one time, and also owned and managed livestock sales companies at Natoma, Russell and Hoisington. When he retired and moved to Russell in 1970, he left the livestock trade and wheat farming to his sons.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Elks Lodge, both of Russell.
Preceding him in death were his father, Frederick Krug, and a brother, Rudy Krug.
Survivors are his wife, of the home; children Joetta and husband Eldon Hartman, Creighton, Neb., Donald H. Krug and wife, Sandra; Marilyn McEvoy and husband, Gary, Norma Branch, and husband LeRoy, Lois Davis and husband, Jim, Monte Krug and wife, Connie, all of Russell; his mother, Pauline Krug, Russell; brother, Arthur Krug, and sister, Mrs. Dale (Elma) Smith, both of Wichita, 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. Herman Fredricks, officiating, with burial in Russell's City Cemetery.
Pohlman's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
