Obituary of MARCELLA HASELHORST |
Marcella Haselhorst, 86, Russell, died Sunday, January
13, 2002, at the Sheridan County Long Term Care Unit in Hoxie, where she
had been a resident since November 1. She was born November 1, 1915, north of Gorham in Ellis County, the daughter of Frank and Mary Mermis Schmidtberger. On October 19, 1937, she married John Haselhorst at Gorham. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and
Altar Society of Russell. Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Wilklow, Aurora, Colorado, and Margery Haas, Hoxie; one brother, Linus Schmidtberger, Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Renetta Witt, Russell; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home in Hoxie, Tuesday, January 15, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, January 16, at Pohlman's Mortuary in Russell from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A rosary service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Pohlman's Mortuary. The funeral will be held Thursday, January 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Russell, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Russell, with Rev. Vincent Haselhorst, Fr. Charlie Steier and Fr. James Grennen officiating. Memorials may be given to the Christian Coalition on Children and Aging and sent in care of the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home in Hoxie. |
