On September 21, 1906, he was united in marriage to Minnie B. Stielow at Russell and this union was blessed with four children, Herman, Ernest, Carl and Marie. Henry moved to the Stielow homestead south of Paradise to make his home and until he moved to Russell in 1944 he was very involved in his farming and livestock operation.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell where he was baptized as an infant and later confirmed as a young adult. He continued his membership in the church even though he was unable to care for himself and had been residing at the Hoisington Nursing Home since August of 1968.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Minnie, who died on November 9, 1972, his son, Carl, who died as a young man, one brother, Alex Strecker, and two sisters; Mrs. Mollie Michaelis and Mrs. Amelia Weedin.

Survivors include his two sons: Herman of Kansas City, Missouri, and Ernest of Paradise, Kansas; his daughter Mrs. Jacob (Marie) Reich of Paradise; three half-brothers; Fred and Ed Strecker of Russell and Fred Heinze of Greensburg, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Dumler of Longmont, Colorado; two half-sisters; Miss Minnie Strecker and Mrs. Bertha Havel, both of Russell; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; several others relatives and friends.
