There were 10 children born to this union, one of whom preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of the Milberger Community and played an active role as a farmer, blacksmith, carpenter and stone mason. With his numerous activities he came in contact with many people and won the esteem and friendship of folks he worked for and with.

As he lived it, his acts and deeds, his devotion and sacrifices, his joys and sorrows can best be remembered and always treasured by his wife, Pauline, his children, Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Schafer, Russell; Paul, Fresno, Calif.; Albert, Plainville, Kan.; Mrs. Pat (Isabelle) Christopher, Geneva, N.Y.; Roy, at home; Mrs. John (Josephine) Dutt, Bushton, Kan.; Melvin (Doralene) Bushell, and Harlan, a foster son, Gerald Nuss, all of Russell, Kan.; twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also four brothers, David, Salina; Peter, Great Bend; Emanuel, Galatia and Benjamin Nuss, San Francisco, Calif. Four sisters, Mrs. Lena Morgenstern, Hoisington, Kan.; Mrs. Mollie Stenzel, Windsor, Colo.; Mrs. Leah Ehrlich, Hutchinson, Kan.; and Mrs. Katie Schneider, Milberger, Kan. Other near relatives and many friends. His parents, one son, Clarence; two brothers William and Jacob, preceded him in death.

Services - Held Friday, November 4, 1960 from the Deines Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. followed by final rites from the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger at 2:30 p.m.
