Obituary of IRENE MORGENSTERN
Services for Mrs. Irene Morgenstern, 68, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday (27 February 1977) from the St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Herman Frerichs officiating. Burial was in the Milberger Cemetery.  Pohlman's Mortuary was in charge.

Mrs. Morgenstern died Sunday at the Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. Born April 20, 1908 in Otis, Kansas, she married Siegmond Morgenstern, August 29, 1926 at their farm home north of Galatia.

The couple spent their life in the Otis and Galatia Communities. They moved to Russell in 1942. She operated Irene's Cafe from 1958 until 1969 in Russell.

Survivors are the widower of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Winnie) Webster, Russell, Mrs. Arvin (Betty) Heffel, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Bernice Armstrong, Bakersfield, Calif., and Mrs. Velma Coutier, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Nima Krom and Mrs. Walter (Florence) Steiben, both of Great Bend, Mrs. Reinhold (Alvina) Wegele, Russell, and Mrs. Ray (Isabell) Huschka, Ellinwood, and Mrs. Norman (LaFern) Starkey, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
