Obituary of JOHANN FREDERICK "FRED" BRACK |
FUNERAL RITES HELD HERE FOR FRED BRACK Funeral services were conducted here Saturday for Fred Brack, 50, whose sudden death at his home early Wednesday (7 March 1956) shocked his many friends in the city. The service was conducted in the Methodist church Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Donald Viets, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Hoisington cemetery and the Childs-Burgal Funeral home directed. Casket bearers who served were: Edwin Brack, Fred Kinman, Harrison Brack, Geo. Brack, Jr., Melvin Brack and Fred Boxberger. Mr. Brack's death resulted from a heart attack, which occurred in his car. He had gone out to get the family car ready to take the children to school and was stricken before he could get the car out of the garage. The home is at 512 East First Street. He was an employee of the Mast Drilling company of Russell and had worked the previous night. Born in Otis, Kansas, May 25, 1905, Mr. Brack had resided during most of his life in this area. Survivors include the widow, Josephine Brack; one son, Bruce, 10 years old; two daughters, Beverly, 8, and Merlynn, 7; two brothers, Sam of Russell, and Elmer of Denver; and a sister, Mrs. Matilda Brauer, Omaha, Nebr. |
