Obituary of JOHANN FREDERICK "FRED" DUMLER
Frederick Dumler passed away at the home of his son, George H. Dumler, Monday, August 26th, (1940) at 10:15 p.m. following an illness of a week, from chronic asthma, from which he suffered for several years.

Mr. Dumler was 83 years five months and 20 days of age. He was born in Blumenfelt, Russia, March 6, 1857. He was united in marriage in that country to Marie Beck and came to America in September in the year of 1891, settling near Russell, later purchasing a farm five miles southeast of town where the family made their home until 1915 at which time he retired, moving to Russell and residing on Seventh Street.

Mrs. Dumler passed away February 14, 1916. The children of the deceased are: Fred J., George H., Mike F., and Carl of Russell, Conrad of Hutchinson, Mrs. John Niedens of Hoisington and Mrs. Fred Eberhardt of Greeley, Colorado. Others who survive are thirty eight grandchildren and thirty eight great grandchildren.

In the year of 1917, Mr. Dumler was united in marriage to Mrs. Jacob Dumler who passed away in the year of 1935. Since that time Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Dumler resided at the home of Mr. Dumler until the former was transferred to Pro_____, Kansas in the Kansas Power and Light Company three weeks ago, during which time Mr. Dumler has been staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Dumler.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Lutheran church with the Rev. _ H. Thomas in charge and Deines Bros. in charge of the burial services. Pallbearers are George Niedens, LeRoy Dumler, Rolland Dumler, ______ Dumler, Bernard Dumler and Lawrence Dumler, all grandsons of Mr. Dumler.
