28 January 1951
Funeral Card of JOHN JACOB NUSS
John Jacob, son of Peter and Magdalena Nuss nee Boxberger was born April 18, 1884 in Marion County, Kansas. About two years later his parents come to Barton County settling on a farm in the Milberger community.

In early infancy he was baptized and later confirmed by the Rev. Hintsze, pastor of the Iowa Synod Lutheran Church at what is now Milberger, Kansas. Here he grew to manhood and in 1905 he united in marriage with Katherine Steinert. To this union seven children were born, three of whom preceded him in early infancy. He spent his entire life farming. On January 21 of this year he became ill and sought medical help, however his condition was not serious until Sunday, January 28, 1951. A doctor was summoned who advised that he be removed to the hospital at once. But before such action could be taken he quietly passed away shortly after noon. He reached the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

Mr. Nuss was a faithful lifelong member of his church, a tireless worker for his home and family and a kind neighbor and friend in the community in which he lived. He leaves to mourn his untimely passing; his wife, Katherine, four sons, Theobold of Hoisington, Irwin of Enterprise, Oregon, Harold of Russell, and Reuben of the home. Five brothers, Pete, Henry, Ben, David and Emanuel. Four sisters, Mrs. John Stenzel, Windsor, Colorado, Mrs. Lena Lust, Hoisington, Mrs. Emanuel Ehrlich, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Mrs. Harold Schneider, Milberger, Kansas. Also 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also many other close relatives and friends.
