Obituary of MINNIE BITTER
Mrs. Minnie Bitter, 99, a resident of the Russell Kare Center died Thursday, June 2 (1983), at the Russell City Hospital

She was born Feb. 26, 1884, in Rostov, Russia, to Christoph and Anna Boger, and came to this country at about age 6. She was married to George J. Bitter, May 18, 1905, in Barton County. He died June 1, 1948. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Hoisington. She was a homemaker in Barton County most of her life.

Survivors are four sons, William of Otis, Solomon and Dan of Hoisington, and Samuel of Russell; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Hammond, Kimberling City, Mo., Mrs. Esther Krug of Russell, and Mrs. Clara Smith, Mesa, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington, Rev. Art Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Hoisington Cemetery.
A memorial gift may be to the Hoisington church or to St. John Lutheran Church, Russell. Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home was in charge.
