Funeral Card for MARY ELIZABETH WAGNER
Mary Elizabeth Wagner, Born May 27, 1894, at Schoenfeldt, Russia. Died August 3, 1969 at Russell, Kansas. Age: 75 years, 2 months and 7 days. The daughters of Henry H. and Elizabeth (Schneider) Wilhelm, was baptized in June, 1894.

At the age of four her parents came to America to settle in Kansas. In 1900 the family moved to a farm near Hoisington, Kansas where he attended school, and on April 9, 1909, she was confirmed in The Schoenfildt Reformed Church. She graduated from Hoisington High School and taught school for one term. On May 11, 1919, she was united in marriage to Joseph Wagner at Otis, Kansas, and then started their home on a farm 7 miles north of Otis.

There were 4 sons and 2 daughters born to this union. One daughter died in infancy, and a son, Lester, died following an auto accident which also resulted in the death of her husband in May of 1941.

In December, 1956, she moved to Russell to establish her home at 1128 Main St. Here also, she became a beloved and active member of the community life. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Elizabeth Circle, Mutter Verein and Russell H.D.U.

A loving and gracious mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, a devout Christian and a beloved and esteemed neighbor and friend, her many acts and deeds of love, devotion, sacrifice and faith, will always be remembered by her children, Verner of Great Bend, Clarence of Russell, Marvin of Meade, Kansas, and Mrs. Alice Douglas, Norman, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 3 daughters-in-law, 1 son-in-law; 4 brothers; Sam, of Maryland; Alex, of Fort Collins, Colo.; Dave, of Great Bend; August, of Ellinwood, Kansas; 4 sisters, Mrs. Geo. Heronemus and Mrs. Emil Schneider, both of Jetmore; Mrs. John Kaiser, Otis; and Mrs. Lester Sprague, Great Bend. Also many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services: Conducted Wednesday, August 6, 1969 from the Deines Funeral Home at 1:30, and from St. John Lutheran Church at 2 p.m, Pastor R. G. Sedo officiating.
Organist: Mrs. Howard Vladar
Hymns: "How Great Thou Art" and "Old Rugged Cross"
Casket Bearers: Duaine Folkers, Rubin Funk, Leroy Wilhelm, Paul Wagner,
Wm. Mai, Darwin Rundle
Laid to Rest The Lutheran Cemetery, Otis, Kansas
Services Entrusted to Deines Brothers Funeral Home.
