30 December 1956
Funeral Card of MARIE STEINERT
Marie Steinert, the daughter of Henry and Eva Katherine (Specht) Wiedeman was born April 30, 1905 in southwest Russell County. She departed this life at the Russell City Hospital on December 30, 1956 at 9:00 a.m. Her age was 51 years 8 months.

On June 11, 1905, she was consecrated to the Lord in Holy Baptism at the former Methodist Church nine miles south of Russell by the Rev. A. Hirth. On the 24th day of June she was confirmed at the family home by the Rev. H. A. Sponholtz as a Methodist. She joined the Lutheran Church after her marriage.

As a child she attended elementary school in the Milberger Community. She grew to womanhood on the farm and on April 2, 1923 she was united in marriage to David Steinert. They were not blessed with any children of their own but reared a foster daughter, now Stella Baldwin, Great Bend, Kansas. They farmed in the Milberger Community until July 27, 1949, when they moved to Russell and established their home at 632 Lincoln Street. A year ago her health became such that she was hospitalized at Kansas City for some time and has been under doctors care most of this time. Five weeks ago she became seriously ill and was admitted to the Russell Hospital. Although loving care by her family and the staff at the Hospital, her Lord and Savior quietly called her to his Father's House of many Mansions, there to dwell until a happy reunion with her loved ones.

To treasure the memory of a devoted wife, a kind and gracious foster mother, a devout Church member and a kindly and friendly neighbor, are: her husband, the foster daughter, mentioned above; four brothers, Henry Wiedeman, Fort Collins, Colo.; John and George Wiedeman, WaKeene, Kansas; Alex Wiedeman, Russell; one sister, Mrs. Jacob (Eva) Bauer, Russell and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Services: Held Tuesday, January 1, 1957 from the Deines Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. followed by Final Rites from the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) Milberger, Kansas at 2:00 p.m.
