Obituary of NORMA T. BALDING
Norma T. Balding, 76, Russell, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born May 18, 1925, at Eskridge, the daughter of Chester and Hazel Williams McEndree.
She married Keith L. Balding May 12, 1946, at Medicine Lodge.

Norma graduated from Medicine Lodge High School, attended Fort Hays State College, Barton County Community College, received her degree from Fort Hays State University, and worked for many years at KRSL Radio.

She authored several children's stories and poetry and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of the First Congregational church, Russell, Phi Kappa Phi, Fort Hays State University, Hays, and Kansas Authors Club.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include: her husband of the home; two sons, Larry Balding, Houston, and John Balding, Kingfisher, Oklahoma; three daughters, Linda Loffswold, Girard, Nita Lavielle, Oberlin, and Wendy Riley, Harper; one sister, Janna Ottman, Seaside, California; two brothers, Elmer McEndree, LaHarpe, and Maurice McEndree, Carnation, Washington; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Pohlman's Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Martha Hartman officiating. Burial was at Russell City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Russell Public Library, or Norma Balding Scholarship Fund for a Russell High School student.
