Obituary of OTTOMER LAWRENCE HOLL
Ottomer Lawrence Holl, son of Levi and Caroline (Dumler) Holl, was born Jan. 28, 1918 at the farm home south of Russell. He died suddenly sometime Feb. 23, 1966, as the result of a fall while working on a windmill. His age was 48 years and 25 days.

He grew up and attended Russell schools and entered the Army in 1942. He later transferred to the Air Force and became a bomber pilot. Following the war he was discharged as a second lieutenant. He returned to Kansas and worked in the oil fields until 1956, when he moved to Colorado. He was self-employed as a water well driller at LaJunta.

In June, 1947, he married Mildred Meadows. She died May 18, 1950.  On May 3, 1953, he marred Beth Newell, Stafford, in Russell.

Survivors include the widow, Beth, of the home; three children, Diane, 11, Dennis, 8, and Donna, 5; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Holl, Russell; two sisters, Mrs. Leland (Frances) Nuss, Russell, and Mrs. Dean (Betty) Popp, Lakewood, Colo.; a niece and a nephew of Russell, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral services were held at Peacock-Green Memorial Chapel, LaJunta, Colo., 11a.m. Feb. 25,, Rev. Donald Malone, pastor of Swink Methodist Church, officiated. An additional service was held at Trinity Methodist Church, Feb. 26, with Rev. Harold . Lambert officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Harold C. Lambert and Ronald Lesner, Soloists, accompanied by Mrs. Herbert L. Michaelis, organist.
Pallbearers were O. O. Thompson, Albert Flegler, Jack Hayes, Wesley Becker, Morris Krug and Wesley Milberger.
Burial was in Russell City Cemetery with Pohlman Funeral Service (Russell Mortuary) in charge of arrangements.
