Obituary of PAUL KENNETH DEWALD
DEWALD, PAUL KENNETH
Born December 28, 1934 in Winterset Township southwest of Russell and a lifetime resident of the Milberger community, he was the son of Emanuel and Elizabeth (Schwartz) De Wald. His death occurred at the home of his parents on May 31, 1970, (1:55 p.m.). His age was 35 years, 5 months and 3 days.

Paul was baptized in early infancy and after becoming of age, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He retained this faith and was a member of The United Emanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger. He attended rural school through the 8th grade and later attended a Training School at Hutchinson, Kansas for a year.

After reaching manhood, he worked at various jobs and was employed at Russell in a Lumber Yard for some time. He never married but was active in community and church activities until failing health necessitated medical care for the past year and a half. During this time he has been in a Hays hospital and also at Larned, Kansas, but had been living at home with his parents since last February.

His immediate family consisting of his parents, four brothers, Leroy, of Otis, Kansas; Harlan of LaCrosse, Kansas; Howard of Route 1, Russell, Kansas and Darrell of Denver, Colo., two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Allice) Michaelis, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Glen (Norma) Feil in Denver, Colo., a number of nephews, nieces and cousins all remain to mourn his sudden passing.

Memorial service: Conducted from the United Emanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger on Tuesday, June 2, 1970, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Gilbert Kisling officiating.
Organist: Mrs. Rudolph Funk
Quartette: Hubert Karst, Tom Funk, John Karst, Constantine Karst.
Casket Bearers: Bob DeWald, James DeWald, Don DeWald, Carl Radke, Mark DeWald, Edwin Lee Funk, Jr. 
Laid to rest: Fairview Cemetery, Galatia, Kansas
Services Entrusted to: Deines Brothers Funeral Home.
