Kansas Voluntary Organizations

 

 
Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:

That the Adjutant General be required to make up a full and coplete report of his office, which shall embrace the name, residentce, date of enlistment and muster, and date and cause of discharge, or death, of every officer, soldier and marine, enlisted from the State of Kansas, in the military or naval service of the United States, during the war, with such information, regimental and company histories relating to the State, or United States service, as may be of public interest, and similar in style to those published by the State of Indiana; fifteen hundred copies of which report shall be printed and bound under the direction of the Adjutant General, under existing contract for public printing, as other public documents are printed and bound. The Report to be sold and distributed as follows: Five hundred copies to be sold by the Secretary of State, at their cost price - the proceed to be paid into the State Treasury. One copy to be distributed to each township library; one copy to each county clerk and recorder, to be retained in their respective offices for reference; one copy to each county and public library in the State; one copy to the Adjutant General of each State and Territory; one copy to each State library; one copy to each member of the present Legislature; fifty copies for the use of the Departments at Washington City; twenty copies for the use of the State officers; and the remaining copies to be deposited for preservation and safe-keeping in the State Library.
