My GGGrandmother was his daughter and she is supposedly buried in one of the Uniontown cemeteries. I have pictures of KC Kirby's headstone, and Charles and Hannah Kirby's headstone, but was unable to find any Lane Headstones. They would be John D/B Lane and Suphronia Elizabeth (possibly Elizabeth Suphronia) LANE. John died around 1890 and she died around 1894. Both were in their early 40s. She died of TB and we don't know what John died of. He is supposedly buried near the "new schoolhouse" by Carter's Mill where he worked. Will share all information I have. Thanks in advance. 4728 N. Springfield-Chicago IL 60625 Query: Looking for any info which could explain what Abial Wood was doing in Ft Scott, KS. I suspect he may have been visiting kin, possibly because of a death of one of his kin folk. His decendants have no idea why he was there. He left his wife in Mich and would have been 66 years old at the time. Date of death is supposed to be 22 Dec 1869. Thank you for any help you are able to supply. |

Most likely she came to KS from IA btwn 1871 and 1874, as this is when several of her family members came. Most were in Butler Co. Query: Additional info on my DAVIS connection (see previous query): Bell's full name is Clara Bell(e) McKNIGHT DAVIS. Apparently she was living in Aral, Butler Co., KS, in 1895 when she signed an affidavit for her sister-in-law. She then appears in Bourbon Co., KS, in 1904 (as mentioned before). |
