Banks, Rachel Bray

DEATH OF MRS. T. J. BANK. Mrs. T. J. Banks, died at her home, near Matfield Green last Saturday morning, death being due to pneumonia. While Mrs. Banks had been in very poor health for several months, yet it was not until a few days ago that she contracted a bad cold which later developed into pneumonia, that her condition became critical . Death came at 2:45 Saturday morning.

The funeral services were held in the Christian church at Matfied Green at 2:30 o'clock Sunday aftenoon, Rev. Cameron, of Cassoday, preaching the sermon. Interment was then made in the Matfield Cemetery where lie buried several of Mr. and, Mrs. Bank's children.

Mrs. Bank's death has brought regret to the entire community, as the Banks family is among the oldest residents of that vicinity and are known to every one. Besides the many friends there is also is left to mourn her death, her husband and fourteen sons and daughters.

OBITUARY OF MRS. T. J. BANKS

Rachel Bray was born December 5th, 1846, in Switzerland County, Indiana, and passed , away October 27th, 1917 She was 70 years 10 Months and 22 days old.

She was married to T. J. Banks September 8th, 1869. To this union were born 12 children, ten of whom are still living, two having passed on to the better world in their infancy.

The names of, the children are Geo. Banks, of Opal, Colo.; John Banks, Collinsville, Okla.! Nealy, Sidney and. Robert Banks of Matfield Green; Mrs. Josie Hix, El Dorado, Kansas; Mrs. Nettie Bocook, Mrs. Amanda Calvert and Lily Banks all of Matfield Green; Mrs Belle Bentley Saffordville, Kansas. All were present at the funeral excepting John Bank .

The funeral services were held at the Christian church in Matfield Green on October 28th, and interment was then made in the Matfield Green Cemetery.
