Loomis, Jack
Jack Loomis, 79, a longtime Morris County resident, died Wednesday, Oct.
29, 2003, at the Chase
County Health and
Rehabilitation Center in
Cottonwood Falls.
Jack Loomis, the son of
Ralph and Edith Evans
Loomis, was born March
12, 1924, southwest of
Council Grove. Mr. Loomis
was a farmer/stockman
and a member of the
Council Grove Christian
Church.
He married Norma Jean
Patterson on May 14, 1960,
in Morris County. She preceded him in death on Oct.
4, 1999. Also preceding him
were his parents and a sister, Jeanne Peebles.
Mr. Loomis is survived
by two sons, James Loomis,
Council Grove and Charlie
Loomis, Australia; two sisters, Rita Johnson,
Delavan and Nita Brett,
Newport Beach, Calif;
three grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and
nephews.
Graveside services were
Nov. 1, at the Diamond
Springs Cemetery.
Penwell-Gable Council
Grove Chapel was in
charge of the service.
