Morris, Clara Miss Clara Morris.
Miss Clara Morris died at the home of her sister, Mrs Frank Grimwood, at Cedar Point Saturday night. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and was attended by a large number of friends and acquaintances from all of the county. Miss Morris had been in poor health for the past few years
and the faithful service of her mother
and sisters, in sickness and in death,
was one of the most beautiful examples of devotion we ever knew.
Early last spring they took her to Colorado, hoping that the change of climate would benefit her health, and during the entire summer lived out of doors. But a few
weeks ago she was brought back to the old
home to spend her last days
amid the scenes of girlhood and the ones she loved. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A A Abbott of Cedar Point.

Clara Morrie Called Home.
Miss Clara Morris died Saturday, December l2, 1908 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Grimwood, in Cedar Point.
Clara M. Morris was born June 28, 1877, on the old home farm near Morgan postoffice, Chase county, Kansas, now owned by her brother, Sheridan Morris. She was educated in their home school and spent most of her life on the farm with her mother, brothers and sisters. Clara was always a sweet, cheerful, kind, affectionate child and young woman, loved by all who knew her. She was seemingly a strong healthy young woman until about three ears ago she took a cold that she did not seem to get rid of and her mother, Mrs Mary Morris, took her to Colorado to spend the summer.
She felt so well that they returned to Cedar Point, where she and her mother made their home and Clara was able to help her sister, Mrs Grimwood, in her millinery store for months. But finally the old trouble came back and she with her rnother and two sisters and brother went to Fort Garland, Colo., to regain her health. They went last July and all that love, kindness and medical aid could do was done for her, but to no avail except to prolong her life. The day before Thanksgiving they brought her home to Cedar Point to spend her last days among those she loved.
She leaves her mother, Mrs. Mary Morris, of Cedar Point, four sisters, Mrs. Henry Lashbaugh, of Sedgwick, Kansas, Mrs. Will Hoag of Wichita, Mrs. Gus Potts of Ft. Garland, Colo., and Mrs Frank Grimwood of Cedar Point; three brothers, Frank and Sheridan of near Homestead, and Stephen of Roy, New Mexico, to mourn the loss of a dear, loving sister and daughter. All of these were home to attend the funeral !except Mrs. Gus Potts and Stephen Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Potts came back from Colorado with Clara but as she seemed to grow better after coming home, they had just returned to Colorado a week when she died.
She was buried from the M. E church Monday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. C. C. Abbott conducting the services. She was laid to rest in a pure white shroud and casket, a fit emblem of the pure sweet life she had lived and all that is for us who mourn is the remembrance of the patience and cheerfulness with which she bore her long suffering. She was buried in the cemetery at Cedar Point and was followed there by a large number of friends from all over the county.
