Wilson, Richard Lee

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Richard Lee Wilson, Madison, was Friday, Aug. 4, at the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Wilson, 44, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at his home in Madison where he had recently moved.

He worked for Tyson Fresh Meats in Emporia in the equipment maintenance department. He previously worked in the lime-stone quarry and as a cow-boy which included breaking horses. He lived most of his life in Chase County.

He was the son of John Ramer "J. R." and Carol Ann Barrett Wilson and was born on Aug.3, 1961, in Albuquerque. He married Donna Rhodes on Sept. 9, 1989 at Cottonwood Falls. They were divorced and he had remarried. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by: a daughter, Chelsea Leigh Wilson; a son, Jacob Chester Wilson; their mother, Donna Wilson; and his mother, all of Cottonwood Falls; two brothers, Bill J. Wilson, Cottonwood Falls and Jesse R. Wilson, Emporia. His father died Dec. 16, 1997.

He was cremated. Internment took place at Prairie Grove Cemetery m rural Cottonwood Falls with the memorial service conducted by Susan Alexander. Memorial contributions to a fund to be used for his children may be sent in care of Exchange National Bank, 235 Broadway, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845 or to the funeral home, 201 Cherry Street, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845
