ELLIS, HARRISON

Air-Bear@worldnet.att.net Kay Caldwell Wed Jan 29 12:46:21 1997
I am looking for any information on Myrtle Olive ELLIS, b. 1881, Indiana, (aka Olive M. ELLIS). She is the wife of Herman A. ELLIS (aka A. H. ELLIS). In the 1900 census for Cherokee Co.,Shawnee Township, they are listed as 18 yr. old newlyweds, A. H. ELLIS and wife Olive M. She states that she and both parents are from Indiana. In the 1910 census, Jasper Co., they are listed as Herman A. and Myrtle O. ELLIS, and she states her father is from Indiana and her mother from Ohio. Family stories indicate her parents may have been Indians. I would appreciate any information on her maiden name, marriage records, etc. If any Cherokee Co. researcher runs across a child named Myrtle O. or Olive M., born 1881, under ANY surname, please let me know. Herman is believed to be the son of Elbert A. ELLIS,( b.1840 TN), and Tennessee HARRISON (b.1860 TN).

AIKEN, WRIGHT

ge@accessone.com Glenn Davis Thu Jan 30 15:39:09 1997
AIKEN & WRIGHT, Baxter Springs, Cherokee County, KS. Seeking information on Rose AIKEN and Thomas WRIGHT. Rose AIKEN taught school in Baxter Springs sometime in the decade 1875-1885. She married Thomas WRIGHT, a cowboy who drove cattle up the Chisholm Trail from Texas to Kansas. They had a daughter born in Baxter Springs in about 1883, Ethel Eliza WRIGHT. Rose and Thomas were both originally from Ohio. And they moved around quite a bit through their lives, so I am having trouble getting a handle on them. All clues helpful. Thanks. Glenn Davis

krkrause1@attbi.com Kristina Krause Sat Jan 18 15:43:00 1997
Need help in locating any information on the Aaron WILEY family. Per information gleaned from the 1910 and 1920 Federal Census for Cherokee County, KS (Cherokee twp.), Aaron Wiley was born in approximately 1855 in KY. He was married in abt 1881 to Lucinda (maiden name unknown). In those censuses, they have two children living with them...Floyd who was born in MO in approx. 1888 and Shelby who was born in MO in approx. 1892. Aaron had at least two siblings who also resided in Cherokee Co. during that time period: 1) Emma WILEY who was married to Wilhelm Fredrick RISTAU and Mary WILEY who was married to ? (due to poor handwriting on a family document I cannot make out the surname, but it looks like FRAZIL, FRAZEE, or perhaps even FRAZIER). Other known siblings of Aaron include: John WILEY of Pittsburg, Susan WILEY QUILLAN of Lincoln and Craig Cos. OK, Tom WILEY (location unknown), and Ennis WILEY of CA. Thank you in advance for any assistance provided.
