Well Known Citizen Had Been Ill Several Months
Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon
A. J. Boggs, an old pioneer of this city, passed away Sunday morning at 4 o’clock at the family home, 1000 North Ninth street, after a lingering illness of several months, due to heart trouble. Mr. Boggs was born in Milton, Ind. Sept. 1, 1844, spending his boyhood days there. He later moved to Terre Haute, Ind., and in 1882 came to this city, where he has resided since. The deceased was good Christian man and always took an active part in church work.
He was kind hearted and always ready to sacrifice for others. He leaves his aged wife, Emma, two daughters, Mrs. George Waddell of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. J. S. Pratt of this city, one son, Edward Boggs of Bartlesville, Okla., three grandsons, Earl and Clarnece Hill of Kansas City and Harold Lee Boggs of this city, and a large circle of friends.
Funeral services will be held from the family home, 1000 North Ninth street, Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock, conducted by the G. A. R. of which the deceased has been a member for the past forty years. They will be assisted by Rev. F. L. Pettit of the First Christain church. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
