Funeral of A. M. Blair.

The remains of A. Blair were laid to rest in Graceland cemetery Saturday afternoon after services held at the home on Neosho street. Rev. C. L. Hovgard of the M. E. church was in charge of the services and his remarks were full of comfort for the bereaved family.

Mr. Blair was born in Ohio, and was 76 years, 9 months and 10 days old at the time of his death, October 13, 1915. He was married in 1863 to Miss Malissa Johnson, who with three sons and two daughters survive him and mourn their loss. Mr. Blair served in Company F, 36th Ohio Infantry during the civil war. He came to Kansas in 1885 and to Burlington ten years later and has since been a respected citizen of the community. He was in poor health for about two years but his last illness was of about two weeks.

All of his children and their families except Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Blair of Roseville, Ill. were here for the funeral. Those here were Mr. and Mrs. James White of Goodhope, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Blair of Fort Madison, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Blair of Harrison, Ark., and Mr. and Mrs. Lee W. Mauck of Strawn, Kans. Mrs. Blair’s brother, L. M. Johnson was here from Wichita also. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Blair probably will make their home here this winter.
