B. F. PHILO
The Star and Kansan, May 12, 1899:
B. F. Philo, an old soldier who has lived in this city and vicinity for the past twenty or twenty-five years, was seized with a sudden attack of heart trouble about 8:30 Tuesday evening and expired within a very few minutes. He was a native of Ohio, being born at Sandusky in 1836. On February 25, 1865 he enlisted in Co. G, Twelfth Michigan volunteers and was discharged Feb. 16,1866. A wife and three children are left to mourn his loss. The two sons, Claude and Charles Philo live in this city and his daughter Addie lives with the family.
The funeral occurred from the residence Thursday at 10 o’clock under the auspices of the G. A. R. with services conducted by Rev. A. L. Hanbey.
