Death of Chas. Wadsack.

Charles Wadsack was born in Germany, July 11, 1842, and died at his home in Garden City, Kansas, May 27, 1912, aged 69 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

At about the age eighteen he came to America and soon enlisted in the service of his adopted country in the civil war, as a member of Co. G, 27th regiment, Illinois.

In 1886 he came to Labette county taking one of the first claims in Southeastern Kansas. He lived in Labette county until two years ago when he came with his family to Western Kansas.

He was married to Miss Louisa Richardson, Dec. 25, 1867, and to this union twelve children were born nine of which survive him, three having died in infancy. He was a kind and loving husband, and a kind, patient and loving father, and was loved and revered by all who knew him.

He chose Jesus Christ as his personal Savior February 29, 1876 and soon joined the Missionary Baptist church and served his master most faithfully until death took him from us.

His was the religion pure and undefiled and his greatest pleasure was to tell some unsaved one of the wonderful plan of salvation.

Although we will miss his kind words, good fatherly advise and pleasant face, still we know that everlasting life is his and that he is not dead but sleeping safe in the arms of Jesus.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Ward, Tuesday, May 28, and interment in the Garden City cemetery, under the auspices of the G. A. R.
