OF HEART FAILURE

Well Known Resident of Dodge City

Passed Away Suddenly Yesterday---

Funeral Service Friday Morning.

   D. C. Wear, an aged resident of Dodge City, died very suddenly at his home at 1001 Avenue C yesterday afternoon of heart troubles.  Muscular trouble developed about the heart without warning and he expired in a few minutes.

  The funeral will be conducted from the residence at 1001 Avenue C Friday morning at 10 o’clock by the Reverend W. E. Rose.

  Mr. Wear would have been 80 years of age next February 28.  He was a native of Ohio but at the age of six years moved with his parents to Quincy, Illinois.  He was married in Quincy in 1858 to Miss Christine Parvin, and four years later enlisted in the Union army, where he served until the close of the war with Co. I, 84th Illinois Infantry.

  The family came to Dodge City from Quincy about nine years ago and have been residents of Ford county ever since.  Mr. Wear was a splendid citizen and the news of his death will be received by his many friends with genuine regret.

  He is survived by his widow and three sons.  One of the sons, M. A. Wear, lives near Howell.  Another son, W. D. Wear, arrived last night from Lawrence, and the third D. H. Wear who lives at Carterville, Missouri is expected here tonight.

  The mother of Mrs. Wear, who makes her home with the family here will be 91 years old next March.
