Eli
Stringer Dead.
Last Monday morning Eli Stringer
started out with the U. S. mail as substitute for S. Coon carrier for route No.
2 and as he was near the O. C. Nichols place in the southwest part of town, he
had a stroke of paralysis and had to be brought home on a cot. He soon
became unconscious and steadily grew worse until death relieved him about seven
o’clock that evening. As this was the third stroke of this dread disease
no hope was entertained from the first for his recovery. Mr. Stringer was
nearly 72 years of age and had lived in this part of the country for a long
time. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday morning
at 10:00 o’clock. Interment in the High Prairie cemetery.
