Resolutions on the Death of Jacob Schornick
At a special meeting of Olive
Branch Grange No. 238, held at their usual place of meeting on the 26th day
of November, A. D. 1873, the following preamble and resolutions were
adopted:
Whereas, It has pleased Almighty
God in his Infinite Wisdom to remove from our midst by death our Brother,
Jacob Shornick, who departed this life on the 25th inst, about 4 o'clock A.
M. aged 43 years; therefore,
Resolved, That in death of our
brother, this Grange has lost one of its best members---society a pure and
upright citizen, his family a kind and affectionate husband and father.
Resolved, That we tender to the
family of our deceased brother our sympathies in this their day of trouble
Resolved, That we will attend his
body to its last resting place and wear the usual badge of mourning for the
space of thirty days.
Resolved That a copy of this
preamble and resolutions be signed by our Master and Secretary and presented
to the family of our deceased brother.
Resolved, That these resolutions
be spread upon the minutes of the Grange,-and a copy furnished the Neosho
County Journal for publication.
