  JOEL HULL DIES ON

HIS 72ND BIRTHDAY

He Had Been a Resident of Kansas

41 Years--Funeral at2:30 Tomorrow afternoon.

  Joel Hull of 327, West Forth street died yesterday, his birthday, of a complication of troubles.  He was 72 years of age.  The funeral will be held from the late home tomorrow afternoon.  Rev. Charles A. Wilson, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will have charge of the services.  Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.  Mr. Hull was born in Marion, O.

  He moved with his parents to Macon county, Illinois in 1853, where he grew to manhood.  When the call for volunteers was made in 1861 he enlisted in Company A of the Forty-first Illinois regiment, infantry volunteers, and was enrolled July 10 of that year.  He served three years and received an honorable discharge August 20, 1864.

 Returning to his home in Illinois, he was married in November 1866, to Martha Louisa Dickey who died two years later.  To this union two children were born.  One died in infancy.  The other, Andrew, lives in Thayer.

 Mr. Hull came to Kansas in 1871 and settled on a farm in Wilson county near where Benedict is now situated.  He married Mary E. Alexander February 15, 1872.  They were the parents of a son born December 16, 1879, who died the following April.

 Mr. Hull lived on his farm until about two years ago, when he moved to Chanute.
