Is Stricken 

  John D. Lindsay died about 6 o’clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Bunn, two and a half miles east of Williamsburg.  He was 68 years of age.  Death was caused by paralysis with which Mr. Lindsay had suffered for ten months.

  Mr. Lindsay was one of Franklin county’s eldest settlers, having come here over forty years ago.  He was a native of Illinois and fought in the civil war with the 64th Illinois.  He was a sergeant.  In one battle he was shot through a lung and until his death received a pension.  In the early days he was a plainsman and a trapper.  About ten years ago Mr. Lindsay moved to Ottawa.  Until he was stricken by paralysis, ten months ago, he carried rural route number 3, through Greenwood township and the Chippewa hills.  Since then he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Bunn.

  Mr. Lindsay is survived by four children, Mrs. Charles Campbell, Mrs. Joseph Bunn and Dee and Nult Lindsay.

  The funeral will be held at Greenwood, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.
