Another Veteran of the
Civil War Has
Answered His Final Roll
Call and
Gone to the Unknown.

Joseph Stover died this morning at his home at 2802 Forest avenue at 6:15. Death came after months of suffering from stomach and kidney troubles. Mr. Stover had been an invalid confined to his home for some time but has always borne his affliction patiently. With the passing of Joseph Stover another of the veterans of the Civil war is numbered with the dead. His comrades lay his body in its final resting place.
Mr. Stover was very favorably known in this city and was prominent in the G. A. R. and army circles. He served in the United States navy on the battleship Benton. He enlisted on September 2, 1864 and was honorably discharged on August 11, 1865.
The funeral services will be held from the Washington Avenue M. E. church tomorrow, Thursday, at 2:30 o’clock in the afternoon. Parsons Post No. 81, will have charge of the ceremonies. Members of the G. A. R. and six auxillaries are requested to be present.
