SAMUEL SMITH
URMY---One of the pioneer settlers in Kansas, died yesterday at the National
Military home in Leavenworth. He was a member of Blue post, No. 250, G. A.
R., and of Kaw Valley lodge, No. 20, A. O. U. W. Mr. Urmy was at one time
assistant city attorney for the city of Topeka, and also served six years as
police judge. A foster daughter, Mrs. L. J. Embleton, lives in Topeka.
The body will be brought to Topeka and the funeral will be held at 11 o’clock
this morning from Shellabarger’s chapel. The body will lie in state from
9 o’clock to 10:30 o’clock.
