DEAD.

  Thomas J. Byers, an old soldier, died this morning about twelve o'clock after suffering for many months.  He was born in Ohio and enlisted in the army in Company G, 14th Ohio Infantry and served eighteen months.  He became a member of the Chanute Post February 16, 1895.

  The funeral will be held tomorrow at his home in the First ward at 3 p.m., services to be conducted by Rev. D. C. Shields.  Members of the post are requested to meet at the hall at one o'clock to take charge of the funeral.
